Frozen Dead Guys Days in Nederland
March 7 to 9, 2014

This three-day party celebrates Nederland's only frozen resident (Grandpa Bredo, soon to be 109 years old) Yep, it's a long story, but locals flock to this mountain town 35 minutes south of our cabin.  Park for the lookalike contest, art exhibits, salmon toss, live music at the Blue Ball, and Colorado's only coffin race.  And, oh yes, beer.

 

The Stanley Film Festival
April 24 to 27, 2014

The festival will present classic horror movies along with newly created independent horror short and feature films that are set at the Stanley Hotel and created by emerging and established filmmakers. Along with the films there will be Q&A sessions, industry panels, the "Stanley Dean's Cup" student film competition and special events for cinema insiders, enthusiasts and fellow artists. The films will be shown at the Stanley Hotel and Reel Mountain Theater. Check website for locations and times. Thurs 7:30 pm to Sun 8 pm.  Rate Information: Cost of Admission: Starts at $10

 

25th Annual Duck Race
May 3, 2014

The Duck Race is simple. You "adopt" little rubber duckies and select Estes Valley charities to benefit from your adoptions. But that's not all, there are Prizes galore! If your little ducky is one of the lucky winners, you might win all kinds of prizes! It's a fun family outing with lots of music and entertainment and you might win! The Duck Race starts at Nicky's at 12 pm and finishes at Riverside Plaza. There is fun at each end. Purchase Duck Race tickets ($20 Each) at the Visitor Center, or online at www.EPduckrace.org.

 

Wool Market
June 7-8, 2014

Family events don't get much better than this - hands-on activities; fuzzy, approachable animals; entertaining performances; and shopping for mom and dad. Each June, families, knitters and animal enthusiasts attend the free Estes Park Wool Market to find all of these great things and more! Those familiar with the wool and fiber industry know this event, held at the Fairgrounds at Stanley Park, as the largest fiber fest in the West.

July 8 to 13, 2014

Rocky Grass 42nd Annual Blue Grass Festival
July 25-27, 2014

Late every July the small mountain town of Lyons, Colorado becomes the center of the bluegrass universe as generations of legends and future-legends converge on the red rock cliffs of the St. Vrain River. Today's RockyGrass is known internationally as one of the great traditional bluegrass festivals. Listen to both classic and up-and-coming folk bands at this local favorite festival held in a lovely grove beside the St Vrain River in Lyons.  Diehard fans make a weekend of it, floating the river in inner tubes by day and staying up late for impromptu se jam sessions at night. bluegrass.com/rockygrass.com

 

USA Pro-cycling Challenge

After pros finish the Tour de France, they come to Colorado for America's biggest road cycling race.  More thsn 1 million spectators are expected to gather along the seven-day route to cheer for cycling's top acts.  usaprocyclingchallengecom

 

Longs Peak Scottish Irish Highland Festival
September 4 - 7, 2014.

Catch the Glow Parade
November 28, 2014

Estes Park celebrates the beginning of the holiday season. Beginning at noon children will be able to visit with Santa and enjoy hay rides and pony rides. Whimsical characters and festive carolers will entertain throughout the downtown area.
